On Friday, November 10, rapper (and former OffBeat cover artist) Dee-1 will release Slingshot David, a 13-track full-length album. Following a successful series of singles including “Sallie Mae Back,” “No Car Note,” “Against Us” and “3’s Up,” the New Orleans native is fresh off co-hosting the green carpet at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards and gearing up for his most ambitious work to date.
The former middle-school teacher just wrapped up his Sallie Mae partnership on the “Knowledge for College Tour,” which he spoke about in detail with OffBeat.com. Now that he’s back home, the promotion for Slingshot David is well underway, and the album is now available for pre-order. Those who opt to pre-order will receive “Hood Villains” as an instant grad track, the video for which can be seen below:
Dee-1 also continues to tour across the country this fall, appearing at numerous HBCU classics. Following appearances at the Southern Heritage Classic and Circle City Classic, Dee-1 will next perform during the Magic City Classic weekend on October 28th in Birmingham, AL.
