Keith Frank, Wayne Toups and more to headline Shrimp and Petroleum Festival

Just 90 miles from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Morgan City will host Louisiana’s oldest chartered harvest festival. Now in its 83rd year, Shrimp and Petroleum Festival will take over the Downtown Historic District for the free, family-friendly event.  Running August 30 through September 3, the five-day festival features live music, fireworks, a parade, arts & crafts and much more.

Also on the schedule is the 30th Annual Cajun Culinary Classic, a showcase of local “home style” cooking featuring delicious Cajun and Creole dishes as well as a variety of desserts and other cuisines. The Cajun Culinary Classic is open 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Fridaynoon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and noon to 7:30 p.m. Monday. Local non-profit groups and civic organizations benefit from the proceeds.
