Trombone Shorty’s Backatown was released before Jazz Fest, and it has been on Billboard‘s Contemporary Jazz CD charts since. It shot to number one when it was released, and after 38 weeks on the chart, most of that in the Top Five, it returns to number one this week.

Shorty is on tour right now and will return to New Orleans to play Tipitina’s 5th annual Bacchus Bash on Sunday, March 5 – his last New Orleans date until Jazz Fest.
