On Thursday, May 21st, singer Sheryl Crow will be participating in a massive Habitat for Humanity build in New Orleans East from 9 a.m. to noon to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
More than 500 volunteers will travel to New Orleans to take part in the build, dubbed “Build-A-Thon,” in which 10 houses will be built in 10 days on America Street in New Orleans East.
In addition to helping out with the building itself, Crow will be discussing the Blue Jeans Go campaign, a program aimed at recycling denim into insulation for new homes.
The build takes place from May 19th through the 31st, and the build sites will be active on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
