Shannon McNally and Roddie Romero & the Hub City AllStars will have a joint performance at the New Orleans Rock ‘n’ Bowl on September 13 and the Lafayette Rock ‘n’ Bowl on September 14. These artists have long been proponents of the Cajun music scene.

Shannon McNally is a native New Yorker who found her most creative self in Louisiana. After spending five years in New Orleans, she moved to Nashville to further her music career. As a new resident of the South, she opened herself up to its many different music styles. In 2013, she released Small Town Talk, a tribute album to the Louisiana native songwriter Bobby Charles. Her most recent record, Black Irish, encapsulates the heartbreak of a divorce and terminally ill mother as well as the triumph of the birth of her daughter.

Roddie Romero & the Hub City AllStars are a Louisiana heritage band, born and raised in South Louisiana. They’ve been nominated for GRAMMYs three times now, twice for their 2016 album GULFSTREAM, and once for their 2008 album The La Louisianne Sessions. They also played at this year’s Jazz Fest. Roddie Romero, who sings and plays accordion, and Eric Adcock, who plays piano, are the frontrunners of the five-piece band. There are three other members: Chad Viator, who plays guitar; Gary Usie, who plays drums; and Chris French, who plays bass guitar, upright string bass, and tuba.

Both bands hope to celebrate the heritage and future of the New Orleans music scene. The New Orleans and Lafayette performances start at 9 p.m. General Admission tickets at both locations are $12.
