Shag Fest will bring two nights of one-off collaborations to d.b.a. in New Orleans on Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31. Hosted by crawfish master Chris “Shaggy” Davis, the event will feature a tribute to Jerry Garcia, as well as a special jam session and more.

Gravity A will team up with Papa Mali and special guests for Gravity Mali Dead on Saturday. The band’s set will pay tribute to deceased Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, whose birthday falls two days later on August 1 (Davis’ birthday takes place on August 2, hence the party).

Sunday will showcase the “Shag Fest Super Jam,” an ad hoc band comprised of Eric “Benny” Bloom, Big D Perkins, Eric Vogel, Terence Higgins, Joe Lawlor, June Yamagishi and others.

Ticketing information for Shag Fest will be available in the near future, and more acts will undoubtedly be added to the bill.
