A second line in honor of former New Orleans Saints player Will Smith will be held Wednesday evening. A Facebook event page states that paraders will gather at Half Moon Bar (1124 St. Mary St.) at 6pm before marching to Sophie B. Wright Place and Felicity Street, where an ad-hoc Smith memorial has taken shape in recent days. Musicians are asked to bring their instruments.

New Orleans has been reeling since Smith was murdered over the weekend. The 34-year-old father of three, who was a defensive end on the Saints’ 2009 Super Bowl-winning team, was gunned down after a traffic accident escalated later Saturday night. Smith’s wife Racquel was also wounded in the shooting.

Alleged shooter Cardell Hayes was quickly arrested by the NOPD and charged with second degree murder. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.

NOLA.com reports that the New Orleans Saints are also planning a celebration of Smith’s life for this Friday. The event will take place this Friday at the team’s practice facility and will be open to the public. More information will be available in the coming days.
