Since cocktails lovers cannot currently experience the treasured guided cocktail tasting at the Sazerac House, the museum has decided to bring cocktail classes online in an exciting new series of workshops.
Guided by in-house expert mixologists Rhiannon Enlil and Matt Ray, Sazerac House’s online cocktail classes will share the historical background and a personalized demonstration of the highlighted drink. The mixologists will be available for any questions throughout the duration of the class. The virtual cocktail classes began May 13 and will run through June 5, with classes every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday beginning at 5:00 pm CDT. Each class will run for 45 minutes and is free and open the appropriately-aged public.
Registration is required to participate in the workshops, limited to 50 participants, and can be done so here. Once registered, guests will receive a link in email with login instructions to the digital workshops which will be held via Web-Ex and Facebook Live.
No need to go out and purchase ingredients in a store, either. Sazerac House has created cocktail-making kits available for curbside pickup. Beloved Sazerac brand spirits are also available for pickup. Both cocktail-making kits and spirits can be preordered online. As a thank you for supporting the Sazerac House and hospitality community, 10% of all proceeds from cocktail kits and spirit sales will go towards the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation. This fund benefits hospitality workers in Louisiana by offering individuals financial assistance during times of crisis as well as providing grants to hospitality and culinary education programs.
