SaxKixAve to Headline First-Ever Genre Gumbo

Structure Live will host its first-ever installment of Genre Gumbo at Carrollton Station on Thursday, April 13, at 8 p.m. Genre Gumbo aims to bring together bands and live music fans of various genres across New Orleans to celebrate some of the best local talents the city has to offer.

Headlining the event is Best of the Beat Award nominee SaxKixAve, a duo featuring Alfred Banks and Albert Allenback of Tank and the Bangas. Supporting acts include Gracie Jay with Nu Bass Theory, _TheSmoothCat & The 9th Life, and Love Your Own Noise, each bringing their unique sound to the event.

Structure Live, the event planning and booking company, was founded by Loyola University New Orleans graduates Emma Fisk and Coby Cohen, who have taken the last four years to host a handful of events, including a porch concert series. Structure Live has prioritized bridging the gap between older and younger generations and the local and college scenes while always honoring New Orleans culture.

Founder Emma Fisk said, “One of our primary goals at Structure Live is to create a unique and memorable experience at each of our events, an experience that brings together the community and builds our community up.”

Tickets for Genre Gumbo are available for $20 at the door.
