On Saturday, September 28th, a crucial event aimed at combating Louisiana’s ongoing land erosion crisis will take place at Soule Café. Hosted by Daily in collaboration with the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL), “SAVE THE SHORELINE” is a community-driven effort to raise both awareness and funds for coastal restoration initiatives. The event, which promises an evening of live music, food and drinks, will run from 6 to 10 p.m. at 2549 Banks Street.
Land erosion remains a critical issue for Louisiana, with the state losing vast amounts of its coastline each year. CRCL, a leading nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Louisiana’s coastal regions, will have an information booth at the event. Attendees can learn more about CRCL’s work and discover ways to get involved in the fight to save Louisiana’s shoreline.
Local media, including The Gambit and WWOZ, will be covering the event, and it will also be featured in a forthcoming documentary film about Champions Of Caring. This Philadelphia-based nonprofit, which has a reach extending to Capetown, South Africa, works with over 10,000 students on various service projects. Emmy award-winning director Henry Nevison is at the helm of this documentary, which will highlight the efforts of organizations and individuals committed to community service.
In addition to the festivities, the event will include a silent auction to benefit CRCL. Donations of goods or services are currently being accepted, and all contributions are fully tax-deductible. Donors will also receive recognition as event sponsors in all media coverage, providing an excellent opportunity to support a vital cause while gaining public visibility.
“We’re inviting everyone who loves Louisiana and its unique landscape to join us at Soule Café,” says event organizer Austin Rapbaum. “Together, we can make a difference and help preserve our coastline for future generations.”
