Samantha Fish Hooked In For Workshop, “Your Band as a Business”

Ascending blues artist Samantha Fish will hold an interview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at the George and Joyce Wein Jazz & Heritage Center at 1225 N. Rampart St.

The interview is a presented by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s Sync Up conference, which provides a series of free monthly workshops for the music industry. At this month’s event, Fish will talk about her career in the industry under the workshop’s topic of “Your Band as a Business.”

Fish started her recording career in 2009 in her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, where she quickly established herself as an important figure in contemporary blues. Since then, she has earned a reputation as a gifted guitarist and jaw-dropping live performer, in addition to a series of albums that explore a variety of themes and musical directions.

Her accolades include being included in the New York Times “Best Albums of 2017” list for Chills and Fever. This year, she won Best Blues Artist and Best Blues Album at OffBeat’s Best of the Beat Awards. She currently also has two albums in the Top 10 of the Billboard Blues Music Chart.
