Blues artist Samantha Fish has had an undeniably busy year with two album releases, March’s Chills & Fever and November’s Belles of the West. Both have been cited as noteworthy; Chills & Fever was named by The New York Times as one of its Top Albums for 2017, and Belles of the West debuted at #1 in Billboard Blues Charts. She is ending the year with yet another prestigious nomination: as Best Blues Performer for our Best of the Beat Awards.
Fish and her six-piece band play over 200 shows a year. Most recently they have toured Europe, but are now back in the states with an anticipated full tour in the U.S next year. Putting a wild year behind her, Fish is ready to hone her skills as a musician in an industry that has touted her as “one to watch.”
The blues singer is true to her roots in the genre, but still blends in a vibrant, youthful energy that prompts Rolling Stone to describe her style as “the intersection of coffee-shop folk and juke-joint blues, performed in a sophisticated jazz club.” And that’s exactly where you’ll find Samantha Fish closing out the year. She will be performing at the storied Orpheum Theater on December 30 in support of OffBeat cover artist The Revivalists. Tickets for the event are available here.
