Saenger Theatre presents Patti Labelle and Trevor Noah, both coming to New Orleans in 2023 for separate events with tickets going on sale Friday, November 18.
The “Godmother of Soul,” Patti Labelle will be in concert on Friday, March 17, 2023. Tickets will be available here at 10 a.m, Friday, November 18.
Trevor Noah, best known as the host for Comedy Central’s comedy news program The Daily Show, will bring his world comedy tour here on Friday, May 12, 2023. Tickets will be available here at 11 a.m., Friday, November 18.
LaBelle’s career spans seven decades in both music and as an actress. She has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame and the Apollo Theater Hall of Fame. LaBelle was included in Rolling Stone’s list of 100 Greatest Singers. LaBelle has also experienced success as an actress with a role in the Oscar-nominated film A Soldier’s Story and in TV shows such as A Different World, and American Horror Story: Freak Show. In 1992, LaBelle starred in her own TV sitcom Out All Night. A decade later, LaBelle hosted her own lifestyle TV show, Living It Up with Patti LaBelle on TV One. In 2015, LaBelle took part in the dance competition Dancing with the Stars at the age of 70. She has also seen success launching her own brand of bedding, cookbooks, and food for various companies.
This year, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah landed a record number of seven Emmy Award nominations. Noah’s success has spanned 5 continents, selling out stand-up comedy shows all over the world. He also served as the Grammy Awards host in 2021 and 2022. He has written, produced, and starred in 12 comedy specials, including his upcoming I Wish You Would for Netflix. His previous special, Trevor Noah: Son Of Patricia received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Variety Show, as well as a Grammy Award nomination. In 2019, Noah released the #1 New York Times bestseller Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood and its young readers’ adaptation.
