Krewe de Lune, a space-themed carnival krewe now in its seventh year, will host its annual Space Ball at the New Orleans Healing Center this Friday, February 13, at 9 p.m.
For this year’s theme, the krewe will convert the St. Claude venue into a “Moon Saloon,” with two stages of live music for all the intergalactic cowboys and cowgirls getting down on the dancefloor.
There will also be open bars, live body painting, trapeze and laser shows, art installations, and a photo booth. And when those late-night hunger pangs strike, St. Clair Pizza’s food truck will be parked just outside.
Performances last until 3 a.m. and range from live acts to DJs and circus performers.
P.Y.M.P., Vibe Street, Rusty Lazer, Boyfriend, DJ Matty, DJ Downtown, Mic Phedusha and the Bull, the Starsteppin’ Cosmonaughties, Clay Mazing (the “whip-cracking circus cowboy”), and aerialist Megga Bones.
Be sure to wear your finest cosmic western garb.
Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. They can be purchased online at the eventbrite here, or in person at Cafe Istanbul (2372 St. Claude Ave.), Idle Hands Tattoo (1815 Magazine St.), Other Bar (5039 Freret St.), or Indywood Cinema (628 Elysian Fields Ave.)
