The Running of the Santas has revealed the details for its fifth annual New Orleans event, which will once again bring thousands of costumed revelers to the Warehouse District during the holiday season.
This year’s festivities will kick off at 2pm on Saturday, December 12. The starting point (aka the South Pole) will be located at the Rusty Nail, where attendees will be treated to live music and holiday drinks. The run will then take place at 5:45pm, when the many Santas make their way to the Generations Hall (aka the North Pole).
The North Pole will feature a headlining set from Flow Tribe, as well as an opening performance by Category 6. A “Best Holiday Costume” award will also be given to the runner with the most creative holliday-themed attire.
General admission tickets for the Running of the Santas are currently available for $25, while those that would like the VIP treatment can purchase tickets for $75. Last year’s event attracted more than 3,000 people, and organizers are expecting an even larger turnout this time around.
A portion of the proceeds from the celebration will be go to the That Others May Live Foundation, a nonprofit that provides scholarships, family counseling and aid to the surviving children of United States Air Force Rescue Heroes that gave their lives during a rescue mission.
