New Orleans band Royal Teeth has been tapped to headline the Louisiana Music event at Prize Frest when it takes place October 4-8 in Shreveport. In addition to the local band, Atlanta’s Larkin Poe will also share headlining duties for the successful event, now in its fourth year.
The festival is part of the annual Film Prize Festival weekend and promises to be bigger than last year’s sold-out event. Over the course of the four-day festival, attendees will be able to enjoy the sounds of such national and international acts as Walker Lukens, The Belle Game, Repeat Repeat and more. The Oct. 5 show will be dedicated entirely to local performers from the Shreveport area, including Rella, Ricky Latt, Star Chamber, and The Wall Chargers, all of whom will be competing against each other for a slot in the following night’s lineup. Bristol Hills, 2016’s Music Prize winner, is also amongst the artists slated to perform.
Attendees will also be able to attend Music Prize U, which will consist of educational panels targeted aspiring musicians. Music Prize U will be hosted by Shreveport native and music artist Kenny Wayne Shepherd, who will also lead his own panel discussion on Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Music Prize U is free and open to the public. Tickets for the entire weekend start at $40 while VIP all access wristbands start at $75. For more information on purchasing tickets or the festival’s lineup, check out the event’s website.
