Rounder Records is planning to reissue a plethora of classic New Orleans titles throughout February in a digital-only format.
Classic Rounder albums receiving this digital rollout include Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Rebirth Brass Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Irma Thomas, Johnny Adams, Tuts Washington, The Golden Eagles Featuring Monk Boudreaux, New Orleans Nightcrawlers and many more.
Scott Billington, who produced many of these recordings said: “There’s something here for every New Orleans music fan, and it’s exciting that this music is now available everywhere. Music streaming is becoming such an important way for people to access music—you can’t beat the convenience.”
Kalamu ya Salaam produced the New New Orleans Music series reissues which include the New Orleans Saxophone Ensemble, The Ellis Marsalis Quartet, Germaine Bazzle & Friends, The Ed Frank Quintet and many others.
