The Rolling Stones announcing a New Orleans date on a tour would make news any time, but today’s announcement is of particular significance for the city. After the iconic rock group was scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival but forced to withdraw due to Mick Jagger’s health, the city was justifiably disappointed.
However, sometimes we do get what we want. The Rolling Stones have added a New Orleans date to the upcoming No Filter tour, which will bring them to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on July 14.
According to a press release, The Rolling Stones “can’t wait to get back out on the road again.” This will be the first time the band brings the No Filter show to the United States and Canada, and fans can expect to hear songs like “Sympathy For The Devil,” “Paint It Black,” “Brown Sugar,” “Miss You,” “It’s Only Rock N Roll,” “as well as some special gems from their celebrated history.”
