Roger Waters will finally make his way to New Orleans when his Us + Them Tour comes to the Smoothie King Center on Saturday, July 8.
The Pink Floyd bassist, who penned a sizable portion of the band’s groundbreaking catalog, has put on a series of high production value, multimedia tours over the past three decades. However, his upcoming New Orleans show will mark the fist time that he’s brought one of them to the Crescent City (Pink Floyd’s 1994 tour came to the Superdome, but Rogers was not a part of it).
Waters is also gearing up to release Is This The Life We Really Want?, his first solo album since 1992’s Amused to Death. There’s no telling how much new material he will incorporate into his 2017 tour, though the tour’s name—Us + Them—is a reference to the seventh track on Pink Floyd’s 1973 masterpiece The Dark Side of the Moon. If past outings are any indication, we can expect plenty of theatrics and visual wizardry from the production.
Tickets for the show will go on sale to the general public on Monday, March 6 at 10am.
