With the exception of a still-soggy Fairgrounds, or the prospect of more rain this weekend, most of your dancing this weekend will probably be taking place on dry land. It doesn’t have to though. Superfly Productions, who have been hosting epic Jazz Fest concerts for years now (and also put on Bonnaroo), are presenting a series of shows this weekend on the Riverboat Creole Queen, an 190-foot paddlewheeler.
The North Mississippi Allstars will rock the river on Friday night, with the Greyboy Allstars on board Saturday night. Kirk Joseph’s 504 Brass Band will open each show, and tickets for both nights are $40, available here. Keep in mind: the boat leaves the dock at 8:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday, so if you’re going to show up fashionably late, make sure you can swim.
