Freret Street will rock this weekend for the annual Freret Street Festival.
Between Napoleon and Soniat Streets this Saturday, the bustling Uptown thoroughfare will close off traffic for its annual springtime celebration, which once again promises an afternoon of great live music (for free), delicious offerings from food vendors, and activities for the whole family.
The festival features over 150 local arts and crafts vendors selling handcrafted products as well as a flea-market where you can pick up used CDs, clothes, knick knacks, and more at bargain prices.
One of the main features of the Freret Street Festival is its pet adoptions, so if you’re in the market for a “slightly used” dog or cat, local shelters have brought out plenty of furry critters seeking homes.
As in previous years, expect a kids’ activity center and various parades.
The music will be spread out over three stages between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and it’s all live and local.
