REO Speedwagon will play a free show at Champions Square to celebrate the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

The rock band, who rose to prominence in the 1980s with hits like “Keep on Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” will perform at the venue at 7pm CT on Friday, December 18. New Orleans’ own Big Sam’s Funky Nation will also be on hand to play a set at the event, which is slated to take place one day before the game.

The R + L Carriers New Orleans Bowl take place Saturday, December 19 at 8pm in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. The 15th edition of the game will see the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves.

UPDATE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the date of the New Orleans Bowl as December 18. It will take place on December 19.
