Record Raid, a one day, pop-up record store, will return to New Orleans on June 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Old Ironworks in the Bywater.
Starting at 10:00 a.m., entrance is free. However, a 9:00 a.m. early entrance can be purchased for $5 for those deal seekers who want to have first dibs on the selection.
Over 20 record stores and a collection of private dealers will have an assortment of LPs, 45s, 78s, cassettes, and CDs for sale, promising rare releases and great deals.
In addition to the music for sale, live DJs will perform, raffles will be held, and “record-collector-friendly” films will be projected.
Coinciding with Record Raid, Euclid Records will hold an in-store performance in their new location, directly across from the Old Ironworks, at 2:00 p.m.
An after party will be held at Captain’s Vinyl from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with performances by Dominique LeJeune and Ex Specter.
Now in its fifth year and 15th installment, Record Raid was started by New Orleans native Hunter King, host of “Storm Surge of Reverb” on WTUL.
