The beginning of fall marks the start of a season full of arts and culture, and Art for Art’s Sake features citywide art openings at 31 galleries. There will be a Julia Street block party while the galleries are open, with music by DJ Brice Nice and food from local vendors such as Crepes à la Carte and New Orleans Hot Dogs. The Contemporary Arts Center will also feature its NOLA Now exhibition, including works by Michele Basta, Aaron Collier, and Club S + S, and have an afterparty featuring their 35th Birthday Concert with Ellis Marsalis and DJ Soul Sister starting at 9 p.m..
The event is Saturday, October 1st from 6 – 9 p.m., and the afterparty lasting until 11 p.m. There are cash bars and food, but admission is free for all the galleries.
