Today, Manny Rios will be hosting an event at Vaso (500 Frenchmen St.) in support of the disaster relief for Puerto Rico. The event starts at 7p.m. and will provide free food, fun drinks, and live music by The Buds and Hyperphlyy.
Puerto Rico was hit hard by Hurricane Maria on September 20 and most areas are still awaiting relief. Puerto Rico hasn’t been hit by a hurricane this strong in nearly a century. This catastrophe has been compared to Hurricane Katrina that devastated New Orleans in 2005. It has been hard for rescue workers to make it to the island, much of which remains without electricity, access to fresh water and basic necessities.
Let’s do our part to help! Things to donate include: bottled water, baby wipes, diapers, baby formula, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, feminine care, clothes, blankets, batteries, etc.
Come out and enjoy a good time while giving back!
