The Prytania Theatre Uptown is offering free movie tickets to customers with proof of a COVID vaccination through Tuesday, March 30.

Current listings for the days ahead at the single-screen cinema, in operation since 1915, include the following Oscar-nominated movies:

The Trial of the Chicago 7
The story of seven people on trial stemming from various charges surrounding the uprising at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago. Nominations: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Film Editing.

Mank
A biographical drama film about screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz and his development of the screenplay for Citizen Kane. Nominations: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Score, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, and Best Sound.

The Sound of Metal
A heavy-metal drummer’s life is thrown into freefall when he begins to lose his hearing. Nominations: Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Editing, and Best Sound.

To ensure social distancing, management has arranged seating to create social distancing and all patrons are required to wear a mask. Floor markings will be used and placed 6 feet apart to designate where people should stand and wait in line at the box office, concession stand, and entryways into the building.
