Essence Festival’s main stage might be the Superdome, but the party spreads throughout downtown clubs all weekend, especially at exclusive sponsored parties. Saturday afternoon, July 2, at House of Blues, Pharrell Williams’ rap group N.E.R.D. performs a private invitation-only concert to hype the Coors Light “Search for the Coldest” hip-hop competition.
The competition’s winner, PyInfamous of Jackson, Mississippi, opens the show along with rapper Pac Div. PyInfamous won the Coors Light contest by a mixture of online fan voting and votes from judges Bryan-Michael Cox (Grammy-award winning producer/songwriter), DJ Khaled (producer/radio DJ), and Pac Div, beating out over 3,000 competitors.
Luckily, OffBeat was given two extra tickets to the show, and we’re passing them on to a lucky reader. For a chance to win the pair of tickets, fill out the form below, and include the artist you’d like to see Pharrell work with next—he’s been too quiet recently!
If you’re one of the unlucky few not already receiving it, you’ll be signed up for our award-winning email newsletter, the Weekly Beat. We’ll randomly choose a winner from the entries and email him/her by Thursday morning.
N.E.R.D., Pac Div, and PyInfamous. House of Blues New Orleans. 3 p.m. Saturday, July 2.
