On Sunday, June 25, the LGBTQIA+ celebration, Pride at The Broadside, returns to The Broadside for its second annual Pride event. The event will feature performances from a lineup of established local LGBTQ performers, including The Seratones, Mia Borders, Joy Clark, and Sean Straynge. Music will run from 4 p.m. to around 9 p.m., beginning with Straynge and closing with The Seratones.
In addition to musical entertainment, Pride at The Broadside will have an art market full of local vendors such as Elektra Cosmetics, Etalian Happy Ice, Shop Without Borders, and more. Giveaways will be held during the event, and resources such as free on-site HIV testing will be made available to patrons by Crescent Care. A percentage of proceeds generated by PRIDE will go towards Trans Queer Youth New Orleans, an organization founded in 2018 that has worked diligently to cultivate a safe and supportive community for all LGBTQIA+ people throughout the city of New Orleans by providing resources and hosting monthly meetings and events such as crawfish boils, pool parties, and more.
The Broadside is located at 600 North Broad Street next to the renowned Broad Theater, and advance tickets are $20 each, rising to $25 on the event day. However, the evening doesn’t end at 9 p.m. After the show, patrons are encouraged to continue the festivities at The Moxy Hotel, where the music will continue with DJ H3LLNAH at 10 p.m. The Moxy is located at 210 O’Keefe Avenue.
