R&B singer and Maroon 5 keyboardist PJ Morton has released a music video for his new track “I Need Your Love,” which features local rapper 5th Ward Weebie. The video was created by New Orleans filmmaker Allendra “Cinemadona” Freeman, who recently worked as a cinematographer on Beyonce’s hit album Lemonade.
“It’s time to pay homage to my roots and the amazing music culture that has continued to inspire me here in New Orleans,” says Morton, a New Orleans native who recently returned to the city to start his own record label, Morton Records. “’I Need Your Love’ was a fun collaboration that was brought to life through this video. I’m excited to share this with the world.”
“I Need Your Love” appears on Morton’s first release with his new label, the mixtape Bounce and Soul, Volume 1. The mixtapes finds Morton collaborating with an assortment of local talent, including Trombone Shorty, Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh, Dee-1 and Mack Maine.
