Pixies will return to New Orleans for a concert at the Saenger Theatre on Wednesday, May 3. While the show does not appear it be aimed at a Jazz Fest audience, it will be taking place the night before the second weekend of the festival kicks off.
Pixies will be on the road in support of their newest album, 2016’s Head Carrier. Widely considered one of the most influential bands in alternative rock history, the band last performed in New Orleans in May of 2015. That gig marked Pixies first Crescent City show since 2004, when the pioneering four-piece rolled through Voodoo Fest on their worldwide reunion tour.
Pixies currently features original members Black Francis (guitar, vocals), Joey Santiago (guitar) and David Lovering (drums). Paz Lenchantin (bass) replaced longtime bassist Kim Deal in 2014.
Tickets for the Pixies show in New Orleans will go on sale this Friday, January 27.
