Pinch A Palooza brings crawfish eating contest, free music to Bucktown later this month

2016-pinch-bandsPinch A Palooza will return to Metairie’s Bucktown neighborhood on Sunday, April 23 with music from Flow Tribe, Rockin’ Dopsie, Amanda Shaw and more. But as the name suggests, the event’s biggest draws will be crawfish-related.

Organized by Deanie’s Seafood, the free event will take place in a space adjacent to the restaurants and will offer plenty of boiled crawfish prepared with their signature seasoning. Other crawfish dishes will also be on the menu, including Fried Crawfish Tails, Crawfish Balls and Crawfish Nachos.

Perhaps more importantly, Pinch A Palooza will host a multi-round crawfish eating contest, with a final battle taking place after the field is narrowed by two individual heats. Only 20 contestants will be able to compete in the contest, and an entry of $20 will be required on the day of the competition. The sinner will receive a complimentary crawfish boil for 20 people and other prizes. Those that would like to enter can sign up here.

Additionally, a single-round children’s crawfish eating contest will be held for the 6 to 12-year-old crowd. A $5 entry fee will be required for that one.
