The Mardi Gras Indian tribes took to the streets of Central City on March 20– chanting and displaying their colorful, hand-crafted suits–for the Super Sunday celebration.
The festivities began with a gathering by A.L. Davis park on the corner of Washington Avenue and LaSalle Avenue. The tribes, led by their Big Chiefs and followed by large crowds of onlookers, worked their way through Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and South Claiborne Avenue before eventually landing back at the park.
