The Revivalists ended their fall tour in Charlottesville, Virginia, at The Jefferson Theater to a packed crowd on Saturday, November 22.
The band bore all the marks of a long series of shows coming to an end, with super tight musicianship meshed with a relaxed playfulness on stage.
Singer David Shaw naturally connects with everyone at a show. In Charlottesville, he spent time singing with with his arms draped around band members as if it were a casual party he was playing, and worked his way across the front of the stage singing right to many swooning fans.
The band rolled through many hits from their own catalog – “Fireflies,” “Navigate Below,” “When I’m Able,” and “Criminal” – filling the hall with a nice variety of warmly written grooves and high energy rock ‘n’ roll.
They also crushed a few covers like “My Generation” from The Who and “Killing In The Name Of” by Rage Against The Machine.
