Dozens of New Orleans musicians and thousands of pounds of Louisiana crawfish made the trip up to Augusta, New Jersey, for Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Fest the weekend of May 29.
Arnone has made it his mission to bring Louisiana music, food, and culture to New Jersey each year to give residents a real taste of New Orleans.
George Porter Jr. and his Runnin’ Pardners, the New Orleans Suspects, Marc Broussard, Kermit Ruffins, and the newly formed John “Papa” Gros Band all put on great sets, as did many other Louisiana bands.
One of the weekend’s highlights came when Saturday headliner Anders Osborne noticed a very young fan sitting his father’s arms holding a replica of Osborne’s black Fender Stratocaster.
Osborne jumped off the stage to sign the guitar and pose for a quick photo before kicking things back into high gear.
