In an explosion of music, dancing, and brightly colored plumage, Mardi Gras Indians took over the streets of Central City as soon as night fell on St. Joseph’s Day 2015.
Flag boys faced off in the streets before joining in a brotherly embrace, the Big Chief of every gang strutted their stuff for the adoring crowds, and the next generations of Indians honed their craft.
It’s up to you to decide who was the “prettiest.”
Everyone involved in carrying on this deeply ingrained New Orleans tradition has a special place in the hearts of all lovers of the city.
