Michael Arnone’s Crawfish Fest in NJ just completed its 29th year and once again delivered a big taste of New Orleans to northern NJ.
Besides bringing a menu not often available to New Jersey such as boiled crawfish, chicken and pork sausage jambalaya and oyster, shrimp or catfish Po-Boys, the festival give fans a giant helping of New Orleans’ most famous export, music.
Tab Benoit invited George Porter Jr. to sit in to close his Saturday Main Stage set, Big Sam’s Funky Nation played on Saturday and Sunday and Jon Cleary closed out the Friday night music. Great sets were also turned in by the Stanton Moore Trio, Bonerama, Marcia Ball,George Porter Jr. and Runnin’ Pardners, Pine Leaf Boys, Amanda Shaw, Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone, Honey Island Swamp Band and a very special treat, Mike Farris with a guest sit-in by Gloria Gaynor!
