Tipitina’s hosted a celebration of the life of New Orleans Music Exchange owner Jimmy Glickman – who passed away last January–on Saturday, February 20.
The event featured performances by Ivan Neville with George Porter Jr., Tony Hall and Alvin Ford, Walter “Wolfman” Washington & the Roadmasters, John Mooney + Marc Stone, and Mem Shannon and the Membership.
A second line also took place, led by the Hot 8 Brass Band, the Young Pinstripe Brass Band, Soul Brass and the students of Landry Walker High School.
Glickman was notorious for his generosity and his commitment to the music community in New Orleans, giving local marching bands instruments, helping musicians lacking funds to find equipment, and supporting Tipitina’s, who listed his name on their Wall of Fame.
