Another day at Jazz Fest 2014, another legendary rocker playing alongside a bevy of local New Orleans musicians.
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant took the Jazz Fest stage today with his eclectic band the Sensational Space Shifters. The group highlighted some trippy arrangements of classic Zeppelin songs as well as classic blues songs from the 60s and 70s.
Elsewhere at the festival, Anders Osborne turned out an energetic set at the Acura stage, slide guitar wizard Sonny Landreth took over the blues tent, Nigel Hall joined Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen, while Dave Malone and John “Papa” Gros led the Raw Oyster Cult through an early afternoon set.
