Irma Thomas, unsurprisingly, drew a sizable crowd to the Abita Beer Stage for set at French Quarter Fest on Friday afternoon. The 75-minute show found the Soul Queen of New Orleans delivering some of her most beloved classics within full view of the Mississippi River, where thousands had gathered to take in the day’s music. Other acts on Friday’s billed included Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, Corey Henry’s Treme Funktet, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Debauche, Tonya Boyd-Cannon, The Vettes, Amanda Shaw, Leroy Jones’ Original Hurricane Brass Band, MainLine, Eric “Benny” Bloom, Ashlin Parker Quartet, Dick Deluxe, Banu Gibson and many more.
