Angelle’s Whiskey River has been a home to Cajun and Zydeco artists for many years now. A cozy spot hidden behind a levee in Henderson, LA, the dancing hall welcomes Louisiana acts every Sunday. Boots and hats move frenetically around the dance floor while the tranquil scenery of the Atchafalaya Basin looms behind large glass windows.
On Sunday, May 12, it was Geno Delafose, a cheerful favorite of the area, who provided the joyous melodies and irresistible rhythms for a Zydeco-hungry crowd. Dancers of all levels, ages, and backgrounds flooded the dancefloor one tune after the other, and the afternoon roared past until the sun made its way down over the bayou.
