Friends, family and fans of Bennie Pete, the recently deceased sousaphone player and founding member of the Hot 8 Brass Band, gathered for a funeral service and second line memorial parade on Saturday, October 2, at the Carver Theater. Contributing photographer Tyler Hailstork captured scenes from the procession. Pete died from complications from sarcoidosis and COVID-19 on September 8. He was 45.
