“Fest After Dark,” Joy Theater’s Jazz Fest scheduling for 2019, will feature three just-announced performances. On Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, Phil Lesh and The Terrapin Family Band will perform. On Friday, May 3, Mike Gordon will rock.
Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead and his Lerrapin Family Band “grew naturally and spontaneously out of the unique environment that he fostered at Terrapin Crossroads, the music venue that he recently opened in Marin County, CA,” according to a press release. The group uses the Dead’s material as “a springboard for reinterpretation and as inspiration to create original material.”
Co-founder and bassist for Phish, Mike Gordon will perform with his own band in support of their latest album, OGOGO. Gordon’s band features Scott Murawski, Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars), John Kimock and Craig Myers.
“Every year we try to outdo ourselves with the night shows during Jazz Fest and this year will without a doubt be the biggest yet. On top of that we are now over a year into taking over operations of the Joy Theater and are planning a lot of things to make every show we host there an unforgettable experience,” says Reeves Price, VP of Operations and founding partner of Winter Circle Productions.
