LadyBEAST Productions, who you may remember from its Mardi Gras Baroquen Circus, has announced a new production, “otherWORLDS: A Contemporary Circus Spectacle,” set for September 24 at the Joy Theatre. This show aims to captivate viewers through aerial circus acts, contortion displays, and visual artistry.
LadyBEAST Productions has been making a name for itself in Louisiana for some time now. Recently the production has been seen pulling off a Houdini-esque escape out of a straight jacket suspended 100 feet above the ground from a hot air balloon, to giving a Ted Talk at LSU, to being a featured feat for Ripley’s Believe It or Not, and performing as the finale act for significant circuses.
The upcoming enactment is centered around a corporate worker named Franky Canga, and the performance delves into his desire for connection beyond his monotonous cubicle life. As the boundaries between reality and alternate dimensions blur, Franky’s journey unfolds in a narrative that explores both isolation and the surreal.
“otherWORLDS” is a collaborative effort between LadyBEAST Productions and the Joy Theatre. The unique story touches on themes of escapism and the human yearning for something beyond oneself. The show will commence at 8:00 p.m.
