Orpheum Theater to host An Evening with David Sedaris

In these trying times, it can’t hurt to get a few laughs in now and then. David Sedaris, one of the country’s premier humor writers, knows exactly how to merge what’s funny with what’s current in our socio-political climate.

On Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m., the best-selling author and contributor will make an appearance at our own Orpheum Theater for An Evening with David Sedaris. Sedaris will present all-new reading and recollections, as well as a Q&A and book signing in an intimate setting.

This isn’t Sedaris’ first time in The Big Easy– or at the Orpheum. In October 2016, Sedaris appeared at the Orpheum Theater as a part of his last tour.

His tour comes following the release of Calypso, a collection of 21 semi-autobiographical essays published in May, which NPR calls “a winning new collection” that demonstrates “a remarkable ability to combine the personal with the political, the mundane with the profane, slime with the sublime, and hilarity with heart.”

Sedaris is the author of previous bestsellers Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim and a frequent contributor to NPR since the 1992 broadcast of his essay, “Santaland Diaries.” He published his first collection of essays and short stories in 1994, titled Barrel Fever.

Tickets for An Evening with David Sedaris range in price from $35 to $50. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, November 23 at www.DavidSedarisOnTour.com
