Famed author and humorist David Sedaris will bring his tour to New Orleans’s Orpheum Theater on Tuesday, October 25. The best-selling master of satire will offer a selection of all-new readings and recollections, along with a Q&A session and post-show book signing.
Sedaris first rose to prominence in 1992 after reading his essay “Santaland Diaries” on NPR. The piece, which recounts his experiences working as Christmas elf at Macy’s, appeared in his first published collection, Barrel fever: stories and essays. He has since put out a variety of essay compilations, including the 2000 hit Me Talk Pretty One Day and the 2013 bestseller Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls. Sedaris has also been nominated for three Grammy Awards for Best Spoken Word Album and Best Comedy Album.
Tickets for An Evening with David Sedaris will go on sale Friday, August 12 at 10am.
