On Thursday, May 21, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art will host the New Orleans Community Printshop, giving visitors a chance take fine art home with them.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., a considerable selection of locally made prints will be available for purchase in the Ogden’s gift shop.
In addition, buyers and browsers can explore a four-floor exhibition, as well as take in the sounds of renowned singer-songwriter Susan Cowsill, who will perform in Goldring Hall.
With the formation of the New Orleans Community Printshop in 2009 and the creation of a permanent and well-equipped base of operations in the Upper Ninth Ward in 2013, the New Orleans printmaking scene is thriving.
The chance to purchase the artwork of this skilled and dedicated group does not come often, and is not to be missed.
For more information, visit ogdenmuseum.org or call 504-539-9650.
Additionally, the Printshop’s permanent location on 1201 Mazant Street is open to visitors.
