Gentilly Fest returns October 11 to 13 with a weekend packed with entertainment and community spirit. The 17th annual Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival will return to Lafayette Square Park October 11–13, offering a weekend of electrifying blues music and mouthwatering barbecue. Festivals Acadiens et Crèoles celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year in Girard Park in Lafayette, from October 11 through 13. The festival is known worldwide for its dedication to the music, culture and history of Southwest Louisiana, and this year has many special events honoring the festival’s history. The Deutsches Haus Oktoberfest returns from October 11-12, 18-19, and 25-26, bringing this annual fall tradition and German celebration to New Orleans. With local and international bands performing traditional and modern German music, the festival also features dancing, a Schnauzer parade and authentic German food and drinks. On October 15, Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro will host the 2024 Across The Pond Guitar Festival. Organized by Jimmy Robinson, the event showcases guitar virtuosos from across the globe. This year’s festival features performances from Gavino Loche of Sardinia, Italy, Adrian Raso from Canada, and New Orleans Guitar Masters John Rankin, Cranston Clements and Robinson himself.
