New Orleans will host vibrant Juneteenth celebrations over this next week, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Out of the many festivities our pick is The 5th Annual NOLA Juneteenth Festival at Congo Square from 12 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19. This year’s theme is “Black Excellence, Black Love & Familyhood,” featuring more than 65 Black-owned businesses, a community wedding ceremony led by Sunni Patterson, and performances by artists such as Flagboy Giz, Anjelika “Jelly” Joseph, Casa Samba, The Maroons and more. On June 19 and 20, The AllWays Lounge & Cabaret will host a special event, “One Night Stand” with Stormy Daniels at 8 p.m. Known for her bold personality and sharp wit, Daniels will take the stage alongside opener Greg Studley to deliver two nights of stand-up comedy that promises to be both hilarious and unforgettable.
