The Nth Power will team up with an assortment of guests when they pay tribute to the music of Bob Marley with a Jazz Fest late night show.
Dubbed “Wake Up and Live,” the gig will take place at One Eyed Jack’s at 2am on the night of Saturday, April 29 (technically the early morning hours of Sunday, April 30). Joining the funk-soul powerhouse will be Cyrill Neville, Raja Kassis (Antibalas), Skerik, Rob Marscher (Jennifer Hartswick Band), Andrew “Da Phessah” Baham (Big Sam’s Funky Nation), Weedie Graimah, Shira Elias (Turkuaz), Boyd (Phantom Vanity) and Adam Joseph.
The Bob Marley tribute is the latest show to be added to The Nth Power’s Jazz Fest schedule. The group—comprised of drummer Nikki Glaspie, guitarist/vocalist Nick Cassarino, bassist Nate Edgar and keyboardist Courtney J’Mell Smith—has already announced shows at the Howlin’ Wolf (an Earth, Wind and Fire tribute on May 2) and the House of Blues New Orleans (May 5).
Tickets for the One Eyed Jacks show are now on sale.
