The Nolatet–a brand new ensemble from Johnny Vidacovich (drums), James Singleton (upright bass), Mike Dillon (vibes and percussion) and Brian Haas (piano)–has added new dates to its first-ever national tour, including a few New Orleans shows during Jazz Fest season.
In addition to their previously confirmed gigs, the group will now play shows in Harrisonburg, VA (March 13), Pittsburgh, PA (March 15), Ardmore, PA (March 17), Bridgeport, CT (March 20), Los Angeles, CA (April 6), Petaluma, CA (April 10), Albany, CA (April 11), Applegate, OR (April 13) and Eugene, OR (April 14).
The Nolatet have also added a run of Jazz Fest shows, including a 2pm set at the Louisiana Music Factory on Tuesday, April 16, an evening show at Gasa Gasa on the same day, and a performance at the Marigny Opera House on Friday, April 29.
In an interesting move, the Nolatet has cancelled its two Boston shows, which were scheduled to take place on March 19. The date has since been replaced with a mysterious “Special Show TBA” listing.
The Nolatet will kick off their outing this Friday, March 11 when they head to the Red Light Cafe in Atlanta. We recently spoke to Vidacovich about the band’s upcoming tour, as well as their debut album, Dogs. You check out that interview here.
